Description

Please join us at EMP's Sky Church on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. to honor and celebrate the life of our Mark Nelson, whom we love and miss.

● Service by Pastor Eric Likkel, our dear friend and pastor at our home church, Emmaus Road.

● Music by Mark's close-knit community of Emmaus Road musicians, and guest musician friends TBA.

● Reception, music, memories, & pictures at Sky Church following the service.

Please indicate whether you will be able to attend by clicking the 'Register' button on this page, so that we can have an accurate head count and a contact list in case we need to reach you with additional information.

In lieu of flowers, per Mark's wishes, please consider making donations in Mark's honor to the Mark Nelson Memorial Fund for brain cancer immunotherapy research and/or to the Mark Nelson Memorial Fund with our church, Emmaus Road. While we love flowers, there is no question that Mark would want to press forward in a tangible and meaningful way to contribute to our church where he was a leader and played music each Sunday, and to continue his efforts to put a stop to GBM through the promise of immunotherapy. Donation information is as follows:

For Emmaus Road Church: http://emmaus.blogspot.com/ (click the link and donate online by selecting the "Donate" button, or send a check made out to Emmaus Road, noted for the Mark Nelson Memorial Fund, mailing address of Emmaus Road Church, 8525 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103).

For brain cancer immunotherapy work in Seattle (Dr. Mrugala): https://virtualtrials.com/Nelson (click the link and donate online or send a check per the instructions on the linked page … these funds will be awarded in the form of a grant for immunotherapy work here in Seattle to carry on Mark’s legacy).

For brain cancer immunotherapy work at City of Hope (Dr. Badie): http://ourhope.cityofhope.org/TNstrong (click the link and donate online ... all donations made by June 30 will be matched by a donor at City of Hope!)

Much love from Us Nelsons (+ Nelson Sr.'s / Gerrish Sr.'s / Patillos / Gerrish Jr.'s, too!).

You might also wonder ...

*Who can I contact with questions?

Please e-mail team.nelson.strong@gmail.com with any questions, and we will get back to you right away.

*Do I have to bring my printed confirmation from Eventbrite to the Memorial?

No -- this online service is just so that we can get some kind of head count for the Memorial. You certainly can print your confirmation for your reference and to keep with you, but we will also have our head count at the EMP entry in case we need it for any reason.

*Can I bring my kids?

This is entirely up to you ... Mark is loved by kids of all ages, and if your kids want to come and be at Mark's Memorial with you, they are welcome! But just so you know, there will not be separate childcare set up to supervise kids. All kids will need to stick with and be supervised by their parents.

*What is the attire?

Cleaned up and owning your look -- classy or hip or rock or to-the-nines or casual -- however you want for the service. Mark would want you to be comfortable. Kids and I will be dressed up a bit, but we do have an 8-year-old fasionista making that call.
